Services & Pricing
Our turnaround time currently is around 14 to 16 weeks from the time we receive your glove. Please fill out our Glove Repair request form , if you’d like a quote.
THE PROCESS
This isn’t a quick wipe-down and a new lace job. This is real glove work. Done right. Done by hand. Done to last. If you’ve got questions at any point, reach out to Bullpen Leather Works though our Contact Us form. Or you can email us directly at bullpenleatherworks@gmail.com If you’re local to the Chicagoland area and need a quick repair or have a question, give us a call at (815) 600-0776
1. Make Contact
You can fill out the contact us, but it’s best to fill out and submit our Glove Repair Request Form. Be sure to fill out the request completely and add pictures of your glove, inside and out and tell us about any issues with the glove you’d like addressed, it will cut down on the back and forth emails. You’ll get a quote back, for the work to be completed. If you agree, let us know and we’ll send you the shipping information
2. Tear Down. Clean Up. Build Back Better.
When your glove hits the bench, it gets broken down the right way — not rushed, not cut short. Every inch is cleaned with premium products, including Leather Spot Cleaner, to strip out years of dirt, sweat, and buildup without damaging the leather underneath.
From there, it’s fully inspected. Weak spots. Hidden wear. Structural fatigue. Binding issues. Nothing gets overlooked.
You’ll get an email outlining exactly what’s going on, what’s recommended, and what it’ll cost. No surprises. No work starts without your approval.
Conditioning isn’t an afterthought. Most gloves go through a 2 step process using a high quality leather lotion and a glove leather conditioner — restoring moisture deep into the leather fibers, not just shining the surface. The goal is strength, flexibility, and longevity — not a quick cosmetic fix.
Every glove is treated like it has seasons left in it — because it should.
3. Finished the Right Way
When the work is done, you’ll receive an email, saying the work has been completed. After that you’ll receive another email through our website (Shop) with an invoice for payment. Once payment is completed, your glove is packed up and shipped back to the address you provided. Standard return shipping with tracking info is included on us.
SERVICES & PRICING
If you don’t see exactly what you need, reach out, so we can talk about your needs.
Prices listed are common ranges and reflect the individual repair, by itself. Often times when multiple repairs are being done at the same time it will typically lower the prices of some of the repairs, being the glove is already opened up and easier to repair other things. Final cost depends on the glove, the materials required, and the level of labor involved.
Basic Service — Done the Right Way: $95-$110
- Deep, methodical cleaning with a leather spot cleaner and a high quality leather Soap.
- Full conditioning with professional glove care products
- Complete relace using high-quality laces — most sourced from Tennessee Tannery (the same tannery trusted by Rawlings). Strong, durable, built for innings. Nearly unlimited color options.
- Palm adhesive replacement or reinforcement if needed
No shortcuts. No bargain-bin materials.
Price for typical infield/outfield glove is $95. A first base/catcher’s mitt or trapeze web is $110
Lettering and Logo Repaint: $60-$100
Every letter is hand-painted by Bullpen Leather Works. No stencils. No mass production.
Match the factory look or go bold and custom. Clean lines. Durable finish. Built to hold up.
Full Leather Re-dye: $60-$150
Bring a faded glove back to life — or take it somewhere completely new.
Professional-grade dyes worked deep into the leather. Once finished, the glove is sealed and conditioned to lock in color and protect the grain.
This isn’t spray paint. It’s restoration.
Thumb and/or Pinky Loop Replacement: $30 for 1 or $55 for 2
Worn loops get replaced with quality leather and proper tension.
Secure. Comfortable. Built to last.
Palm Padding Service: $30-$75
Replace or add palm padding or finger padding. Traditional leather padding with reinforced adhesive.
Leather Patch Repairs: $30-$120
Damage happens. Cheap repairs fail.
Patches are cut, fitted, and stitched with intention. Common areas include the web, finger junctions, and hand stall. Pricing depends on severity and placement.
Repairs extend life — but they’re built to endure real play, not just shelf display.
Binding Repair or Replacement: $85-$150
Worn, frayed, or cracked binding doesn’t just look bad — it weakens the entire glove. Binding repairs are done using high-quality leather selected for durability and long-term performance, often stronger than the original factory material.
Old binding is carefully removed, the edge is prepped and reinforced as needed, and new leather is installed with precision and proper tension to maintain the glove’s structure and shape.
Every binding job is completed with attention to detail and clean, professional stitching built to handle real game use — not just appearance.
Typically a Fastback style glove is $85, regular glove is $100, and catcher’s mitt or first base mitt is $150
Hand-Stall Rebuilds $250-$290
Rebuilding the handstall is quite time consuming and tedious. The price for handstall rebuilds are $250 to $290 and that includes a clean, condition, relace, removing the binding and the old handstall, rebuilding a new handstall, and addressing any padding/felt issues, new thumb and pinky loops if needed and sewn back together with new leather binding. We have two different options as far as handstalls. A Horween chrome tanned cowhide or a deertanned cowhide liner. Both are durable and will last with proper care. The Deertan is softer on the hand and generally feels better. Rawlings has been using deertan inside their gloves for many years. The Horween chrome tanned is a little less flexible and stiffer, but is a little tougher on the durability side. Deertan rebuilds are $250 and the chrome tanned rebuilds are $290.
Major rebuilds. Structural changes. Full transformations.
